Irish Dancing comes to Italy

Irish dancing has come to Italy. The Italian and French students were fast learners.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP to VENICE: APRIL 19th

   
 

 Friday, April 19th the  Italian and French pupils, at the end of the Comenius meeting, went on an educational trip to Venice to visit one of the most important places of our musical culture and of our history : the Gran Teatro La Fenice. Both for pupils and teachers it represented a great opportunity and the core of the first year project.
We said goodbye to our French friends giving appointment for the next fall in Lyon.



Venerdì 19 aprile gli alunni italiani e francesi, a conclusione della settimana Comenius, si sono recati in gita a Venezia per visitare uno dei luoghi più importanti della nostra cultura e della nostra storia : il Teatro Lirico la Fenice.

Principale teatro lirico di Venezia, e uno tra i più eleganti teatri italiani, venne costruito negli anni 1790-92 dalla Nobile Società dell’architetto neoclassico Gianantonio Selva e fu considerato per i sui tempi, grazie all'acustica perfetta, uno dei più belli al mondo.
L’inaugurazione avvenne il 16 maggio 1792 - durante la festa della “Sensa” - con la messa in atto de “I giochi di Agrigento” di Giovanni Paisiello.

Il teatro subì un traumatico destino: per due volte bruciò e per due volte, proprio come il mitico uccello, risorse dalle sue ceneri.

Il 13 dicembre 1836 venne quasi completamente distrutto dalle fiamme, si salvarono solo una parte dell’ingresso e i muri perimetrali, tuttavia fu subito ricostruito sul modello dell’originale.

Durante la Repubblica di Manin vi si tennero esclusivamente concerti per raccogliere fondi per la resistenza agli Austriaci.

Durante il XIX secolo divenne uno dei teatri d'opera più importanti e legò il suo nome a quello dei maggiori compositori italiani. Fu sede di numerose prime rappresentazioni di opere liriche di grandi autori italiani come Gioachino Rossini ( Tancredi, Sigismondo, Semiramide), Vincenzo Bellini (i Capuleti e i Montecchi, Beatrice di Tenda), Giuseppe Verdi (Ernani, Attila, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Simon Boccanegra).

Il 29 gennaio 1996, ancora una volta, il teatro venne distrutto dal fuoco. La Fenice, come vuole il suo nome, risorge anche da questo secondo incendio. Riedificato in circa otto anni, il " nuovo " Teatro fu inaugurato il 14 dicembre 2003 alla presenza del Presidente della Repubblica Carlo Azeglio Ciampi con un concerto diretto da Carlo Muti.

Dal 1º gennaio 2004, sempre per festeggiare la riedificazione del famoso teatro, vi si svolge, in contemporanea al Musikverein di Vienna, il Concerto di Capodanno, in cui vengono eseguiti pezzi d'opera lirica, in particolare italiana ma anche straniera.


L'esterno dell'edificio è di tipo neoclassico, con un pronao colonnato sovrastato da nicchie con statue della Musica e della Danza, oltre che da maschere e dal medaglione con la Fenice. All'interno sulla vasta platea si affacciano la galleria e quattro piani di palchi con balaustre riccamente ornate di rilievi dorati e di medaglioni dipinti, per una capienza di circa 1500 spettatori.

THE CONCERT: April 18th

Primo Concerto dell'Orchestra Europea!

Tutta la scuola si è riunita nell'auditorium per assistere al Concerto Comenius. Gli studenti, preparati dalle insegnanti di lingua, hanno introdotto e presentato i brani scelti in francese, inglese ed italiano agli invitati. Fra gli ospiti erano presenti rappresentanti di altre scuole, il Presidente del Consiglio d'Istituto e dell'Associazione dei Genitori, il Sindaco dei Ragazzi oltre a tutto lo staff.

Ricco il repertorio di Musica, diretto dai professori Mauro Martin e Gilles Nèvoret con una carrellata di brani dal Medioevo al Rinascimento, dal Barocco al Risorgimento.
L'evento si è arricchito di due presentazioni  Power Point su Vivaldi ed Umberto Tozzi fatte dagli studenti francesi.

Grande successo per il finale 'All is Possible', appositamente composto, quando tutta la scuola si è unita cantando con grande coinvolgimento l'inno del progetto. Entusiasmo alle stelle e grande energia soprattutto quando duettando a ritmo di RAP i ragazzi  hanno spiegato l'importanza ed il significato di questo scambio attraverso la musica.


Gli insegnanti irlandesi hanno presentato un video dei loro alunni ed hanno coinvolto sul palco in una lezione di danza folk tutti gli insegnanti presenti.




  A conclusione dell'evento il Preside ha ringraziato ospiti, alunni ed insegnanti per i risultati ottenuti attraverso la cooperazione.
Durante il pomeriggio l'Orchestra ha inciso i pezzi completando e documentando la selezione musicale del primo anno di progetto.

                     First Concert of the European Orchestra!

On Thursday the 18^th the whole school has met in the auditorium to attend the Comenius concert. Students presented the chosen pieces in French, English and Italian. Among the guests there were representatives of other Schools, the President of the Council of our Institution and of the Parents Association, the Students ‘Mayor as well as all the staff.
The rich repertoire of Music, directed by Professors Mauro Martin and Gilles Nèvoret included a roundup of songs from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, from Baroque to Renaissance, up to Film music. The event was enhanced by two Power Point presentations on Vivaldi and Umberto Tozzi made ​​by French students.
 
Great success for the final 'All is Possible', specially composed for the project, when the whole school joined the hymn singing with deep involvement. Unbridled enthusiasm and great energy especially when trough a duet to the RAP rhythm an Italian boy together with a French girl explained the importance and the meaning of our cooperation through MUSIC.
 


The Irish teachers presented a video of their pupils and later they involved on the stage in an Irish folk dance all the teachers.
 

At the conclusion of the event the Principal thanked guests, students and teachers for the great achievements obtained through cooperation. During the afternoon, the Orchestra has recorded pieces by completing and documenting the music selection of the first year of the project for the National Agency.

COMENIUS MEETING 17th APRIL

On April 17th, our school welcomed the Comenius delegation in Italy and our cooperation has gained visibility among the whole school community. During the morning our students got to know and communicate with the French students,  rehearsing songs chosen, playing music together  in the European Orchestra made up of over 80 elements including keyboards, flutes, percussion and the choir’s students.

Music teachers, Mr. Gilles Nevoret and Mr. Mauro Martin, guided and directed the European Orchestra, comparing and sharing different teaching strategies. The students through their performance were able to demonstrate that Music is an universal language that unites beyond all cultural or linguistic differences.

The Irish teachers, who could not take their students abroad, went with our Principal to visit the Primary School, having the opportunity to compare a different school system organization.

The Parents’ Association supported us, letting our guests appreciate the best of our 'gastronomical' traditions, through a welcome buffet  and of course it was all  Made in Italy!

In the afternoon we were able to share moments of knowledge of our cultural patrimony, through a guided tour discovering our artistic and historical heritage. We brought our guests to visit the Abbey of Sesto al Reghena, home to major concerts, the small village of Valvasone where we could admire the Venetian oldest Organ still functioning, and the historic center of San Vito al Tagliamento, where the French students performed two  French popular songs in the theater.

Il 17 aprile la nostra scuola ha accolto la delegazione Comenius in Italia e la nostra cooperazione ha potuto  essere ostensibile a tutta la comunità scolastica. Durante la mattinata i nostri studenti hanno potuto conoscere e comunicare con gli studenti francesi, con i quali hanno iniziato attraverso le prove a suonare insieme in una grande Orchestra Europea formata complessivamente da oltre 80 elementi tra tastiere, flauti, percussioni e gli  alunni del coro della scuola.

          

Gli Insegnanti di musica: Gilles Nèvoret e Mauro Martin,  hanno condiviso i 'ferri del mestiere' guidando e dirigendo l'Orchestra Europea, confrontandosi e condividendo diverse strategie. Gli allievi attraverso la loro performance hanno potuto dimostrare come e quanto la musica riesca ad essere un linguaggio universale che unisce al di là di ogni differenza linguistica o culturale.

   

Gli insegnanti Irlandesi, che non hanno potuto portare i loro allievi, si sono recati con il preside in visita alla Scuola Primaria, cogliendo l’opportunità di confrontare i diversi sistemi organizzativi scolastici.

Il contributo dei genitori, attraverso la loro Associazione, è stato determinante nel far apprezzare le nostre migliori tradizioni ‘gastronomiche’ agli ospiti, attraverso un gradito rinfresco Made in Italy!

Nel pomeriggio abbiamo potuto condividere momenti di conoscenza del nostro patrimonio culturale, attraverso un tour alla scoperta del nostro patrimonio artistico e  storico. Abbiamo portato i nostri ospiti a visitare l' Abbazia di Sesto al Reghena, sede di importanti concerti; il borgo di Valvasone dove abbiamo potuto ammirare l'organo veneziano più antico ancora funzionante, ed il centro storico di San Vito al Tagliamento dove gli studenti francesi si sono esibiti nel teatrino.
